I think he cannot be changed, it is automatically assigned by the system, after trying to recommend a friend successfully, remember your invitation code permanently

@Nicolebonte the person giving you the referral needs an active account just a thought
I believe that what's being asked about is the referral code that @Nicolebonte can give to others.

I'll voucher for the copy and paste it in word processor trick. Zeros are flat, the letter "O" is usually almost a perfect round. If you refer a friend, you can email them the referral code that you copied ( they can copy and paste into the form from email) or use the link from your self serve acct which has your code in it.

@Nicolebonte Unfortunately, not possible to change it... Only if create a brand new account. My code also has confusing 0 and O and I totally understand your frustration😑
That is why I give to my future referrals either a direct link to the code with registration, or copy and paste the code and telling people to do the same instead of writing themselves symbol by symbol.

@Nicolebonte hi there! that must be frustrating. Try this...
Log in your own self serve account. Where you find your referral code, there is a link,
click that link and your referral code is already on the form.
That should work.

This will tell you if you have a valid referral code. In self service right after the referral code display is a link. Click on the link and it will take you to the activation page with the referral code already entered. You should see a green check mark beside it indicating a valid code.
Your code also appears at the end of the link which you can copy and paste.

My referral code is ALL letters except a 4 in the 5th position and it ends with a letter O. Seeing 4 letters and then a 4 followed by O makes one automatically see the last 2 as 40 (forty) like ABCD 40. I always point out to people that it is (example) ABCD 4 Oh with a letter O on the end and everyone got it correct so far.

No, it can't be changed. Talk to the moderators by clicking the SIMon bubble on the bottom right of your screen. Your 0 and O don't look the same. In your message, the first is a number and the second is a letter. Paste it into a word processor and change the font to see if it makes it easier to tell the difference.

I dont think anyone has successfully been able to get a new (or better) referral code issued. Crazy that they didnt leave out the confusing letters and digits when they issued the Referral Codes.... but they didn't. It is just a matter of figuring out what it really is and then explaining it carefully to people you give it to.
There is also a link available for you to use that inserts your code directly into the application form for your prospective new customer to sign up with. That cant help but work properly. And if it doesn’t the moderators will have to answer to your problem!
