Call forwarding - from iphone settings vs #21#?

I'm going on vacation and I'm expecting a call about a job interview. I don't plan on buying PM's roaming package (free esim with a US provider). I was wondering if someone can explain the difference between iphone's call forwarding vs PM's? Does it matter which one I use? If someone could ELI5 what the actual difference is... 😂

Some like the dial codes, some use the dialer. Doesn't matter.

So forward to your TextNow and remove the sim (or disable it).

But one thing if you are going US.  remove the sim card before you go US.  If not, the moment, you enter US, PM sim will still try to connect to US network even you don't have roaming, then call forwarding will be disabled. So, call forward to your esim number, but remove PM sim before your US trip
