Apparently http://www.mrnumber.com has an app for Android & iOS that can block entire country codes!

It could be that I'm simply lucky, or protected by raw anonymity, or next on the list, or even deemed a worthlessly low-priority target by some sophisticated statistical meta-marketing analysis of all the data Big Brother has compiled about boring little old me.
So I guess this app could be useful. I received a lot of telemarketing/spam when I first got my phone number, I've received none at all since registering it. But YMMV, as always.

And on a DNCL at my local Stream/Convergys call center, since they're on Native Reservation Land and thus apparently entitled to dial local numbers with total impunity.
I don't receive any more telemarketing, unsolicited offers, surveys, spam, or cold calls at all. I also don't receive any more text msg spam, except for a couple random phishing scams I reported to my bank.
It seems this app doesn't hurt but isn't really necessary. At least for my boring old phone number, lol.

I had a couple of calls recently, unanswered but caller ID stayed in the log, from a number that somebody in a reporting data base named "Douchebag Scammers"... Made my day!

1 is the taxman coming to arrest me if I don't pay taxes right now using my credit card
The other is my local Koodo store. Telling me that I need to come in to complete the migration.. everyone who received the text must migrate to Koodo ....
The number marked as spam by the android dialer today was 647-243-5933. Is this number familiar to you? The android dialer has an option to block/report spam. I think google logs phone numbers reported as spam for the benefit of the other users. This is very useful. As a side note, the android dialer also does phone number look ups. Type in the information about a business and get their phone number. It is like a 411 service without the surcharge.

Mali (223) is the special of the day in the UK. £10 if you even just reply to text/call! Ouch.
Catching many people with PAYGO balances and post-paid accounts.

appears to be useful.
Thankfully I haven't had any spam calls lately but will check it out.
