Activation problem

I have created a PM account and downloaded the PM app. When I login on my phone I am asked whether I want to continue in the app. When I choose yes I am directed back to the login page. What's going on?

you will need to ask PM support agent to help to complete the rest of the subscription, you can submit  ticket by direct message:

if you already pay with browser and unable to login app to complete, then ask PM to help.   Since you cannot properly login, you won't be able to open the preferred Chatbot ticket.  So, you will need to message them here

I have uninstalled and reloaded the PM app a number of times but no success.

The email has not been used before. I have set up the account online, but when I go to the PM app on my phone to complete the activation I get sent back to the login page each time I try to go to the app to continue the activation process.

was that email ever used before?  maybe you used that before and you left PM? 

if the email address was never used on any active line now, then you can continue if possible.  if you cannot continue, you can uninstall the app and reinstall and use another email address to create another new account and use that instead
