Activation error

Hi,

I bought public mobile a few day back and did my activation online. However for some reason outgoing call seems to be working but not my incoming calls. The moderator team has stopped replying so I do not know what to do. I was hoping to get a refund since the sim has been Pratically useless. I really hope someone to look into the matter urgently because I bought this sim for my mom who is here just for the next two weeks. Please give me some advice on what do to.

That is frustrating.  It looks like that you are in communication with moderators.  Since it indeed sounds like an activation error, moderators will need to fix it.  

 

Another idea which does involve more money is manually loading $1 into the account.  This trick also seems to reset your plan.  It has been used in various past fixes.  No guarantees though.  Not sure whether you want to spend more money into this account though....

i activated the sim on the 19th. Having messaging the team ever since.Whenever I’m calling the this sim it gives a strange tune but doesn’t connect. The plan I’m using should have canada and us wide calling and international texting with 2GB data. It’s weird it’s not working cause I bought two sims with the same plan one for my dad and the other for my mom. The other one is working fine.

I tried doing that but it’s still not working. It’s definitely not an hardware issue since my phones working fine with my other sims. @Intezhoha Just be patient and send mod-team another message. Hopefully the mods will get to you soon.

assuming you got a new number and did not port a number in from a different provider. were there any errors during activation?

 

  • what plan did you buy?
  • when was the last contact with the mods?
  • when you call your mom what happens
    • does it go to voicemail?
    • is there some other message?
    • is it possible she has a do not disturb feature on?
  • you could try the lost stolen trick (click  plans from selfserve teh lost stolen then toggle for 5 minutes) this can act as a soft reset of sorts

when was your last message to  mods and when was theirs to you.   do you know what they have tried to do to fix teh issue?

@Intezhoha  What plan did you activate? When you say incoming calls are not working what happens when you call that number? Did you port another number from a previous provider? Check your phone to make sure it's not on "do not disturb" mode.

You may need to wait for moderator help.  Need to be patient sometimes.  Hopefully, they can resolve things soon.  

 

Can you try your mom SIM card in your phone?  To determine whether hardware issue versus PM service issue?

 

As you wait for moderator, you can try a few things;

1. Reboot your phone

2.  Network reset or possibly factory reset of phone.

3.  Report your phone lost/stolen in your self service account.  Seems to reboot your SIM card. Will not harm your phone or service. 

 

To report your phone  lost/stolen.  Login to your account.  Choose Plans and Add-ons tab. Then choose Lost/Stolen Phone tab.  The choose Suspend Service tab.  Logout.  Wait few minutes.  Login in and report your phone found.
