I am beyond frustrated at this point - I have turned off the automatic option and have selected AT&T as well as Verizon and experience the same drop off (after 20-40 seconds) so I don't know what else to do at this point.

Thanks everyone - it appears AT&T is the main carrier for North Carolina do I will try to set my phone to that rather than automatic roaming. I will see what happens
