I've sent support a message already with my questions about activating with a temp number but they're super slow to respond. Thanks so much @Handy1 @Sansan for your input, I'll try to activate the eSIM with a new temp number and go from there.

I was not told why I need a physical SIM card. They just told me to do it. I'm unsure of the reason and I wish they offered some sort of explanation.
