I signed up and set up to port a landline number. I got multiple emails from Public asking me to respond to an SMS sent to my landline by my old carrier. How do I get and respond to an SMS on a landline?

It took a little over 7 days but it happened. My landline was assigned a new number and was not closed by Telus. May need follow-up action.
