Try connecting with their agent directly! That might be the best way, since it will need to be done internally. The best thing to do is ensure you've cancelled it so you dont continue to get charged.
There are sometimes settings in your phone to enable 4G/5G - also you should check to see if you have 4G towers in your area to ensure you can get 4G signals.
You typically get the option to port your old number when you are signing up for public! As long as you still have it with the other carrier, you should be able to port it to Public Mobile!
