Sim card doesn't work with iphone 12

I tried to insert my sim card into iPhone 12 but it doesn't work and the phone says it's because the card provider doesn't support the phone. How can I fix this? Thank you!

I searched it online and the IMEI number shows it's fine, only thing that the carrier lock said SIM locked. Not sure how to deal with this.

The sim card's working fine on my phone now which is Samsung s8, I got this phone on marketplace but it's brand new and it's in Canada
