I did this and everything seems to be up to date.    I put the sim card in another iphone and it works.

The sim card works in another phone.  When I put the sim card back in the original iphone it caused the phone to reset and shows Hola and wants me to enter my apple id.  Unfortunately I do not remember the apple id.

I took out the sim card and reinserted it.  The phone reset.  I then put the sim card in another phone and it worked.  I guess I need a new phone!! 
