There has been many copper wire stealings in Canada - Specifically the Maritime provinces and Ontario & Quebec. People were out of internet & TV for numerous days, while Bell had to buy more copper wire to provide customers.
So Bell decided to set up Booby Traps with alarm systems to alert police / RCMP about no copper wire link. People who did do copper wire thefts with Bell Copper internet & TV within the last few months have gotten caught by Police / RCMP, even one vandal is currently getting a lawsuit with Bell. Bell also said that earlier this month they had received an alert in Fredericton from their Ariel Alert Systems and the Vandals got caught in the act.
Bell said that Copper Wire thefts are "Frustrating."
