I'm wonderin if your phone could possibly be set to block calls from phone numbers not already saved on your device. The caller still hearing one ring could indication that your device might not be rejecting the call quickly enough to preven the other person from hearting that.

Hi @roberttrudeau are you a new customer and is transferring (porting) your number to Public Mobile?  As already mentioned above, the last things to port are receiving calls and texts.  If this is the case, continue using your old provider's sim card until it stops working, which means that your port is complete.

If you just want to change the number of rings on your device, follow instructions by @HALIMACS above.

It would be nice if you keep us posted or give us more information so we can help you better.

Welcome to Public Mobile

@roberttrudeau

If you just ported your number over to Public Mobile, it usually takes about 2-4 hours to complete the port if you are porting from a cell provider.

If you are porting from a landline / VOIP it could take up to 7 days (but usually less).

Do not cancel services from your previous provider. When the port is complete the incoming calls will stop from the previous cell account or landline account (then the account should close automatically).

FYI - Incoming calls are usually the last to port over.

Good point, @TheGx.   It could be that the OP just activated and aren't yet receiving incoming calls which are instead going directly through to voicemail service.

@roberttrudeau if that's the case, are calls going to your prior supplier's voicemail (if you're porting number in from another provider)

If that's the case, usually time is required to complete the porting process.   Also, the following seems to help this along:

  • rebooting phone
  • toggling airplane mode on/off
  • removing and replacing your Public Mobile SIM card in your device
  • resetting network connections

@roberttrudeau :You must mean your phone going to voicemail after first ring, how long has it been doing this? Did you recently activate with Public? Let us know more details so we can help you.

This can be amended.  (EDIT:   if you're seeking to amend voice message settings)

Dial this sequence: *61*16475804001*11 *

[then enter number of seconds to wait] # [SEND or CALL].

For the number of seconds to wait - choose from the following options:

For one ring, enter 5.

For two rings, enter 10.

For three rings, enter 15.

For four rings, enter 20.

For five rings, enter 25.

For six rings, enter 30 (This is the maximum number of rings/seconds).
