Until we hear back from @carolairst , opening a ticket might not be necessary. Most likely, the customer probably just had to wait 50 minutes between attempts, especially if the customer clicked ont he "back" button to try to change something in the account profile.

A specific computer system, software, or web browser cannot cause an issue of "invalid sim card" to be produced. That message is sent from the Public Mobile activation server and the message is decied upon there. The message means that the sim card has already been used or that someone only partially completed an activation attempt.

That happened to me when I signed up. Turns out I goofed and got the SIM # wrong.
Take a picture of the number with your phone and blow it up to ascertain you got it right.
Then as others have stated wait an hour and use another browser in private/incognito mode.
Eventually it WILL work! It took yours truly about eleventeen tries, but not everyone is as dumb as me.

@carolairst if you received that error the very first time you tried activating the sim it means that the sim had previously been activated and will not work. If you received that message after your original activation attempt failed because of another error then wait an hour and try again.

@carolairst check to see if your credit card was charged. If it was, insert the sim into your phone and try to log into your self service account. If it wasn't, wait an hour from last attempt, clear your browser history, go to private/ incognito mode and try again to activate your SIM card. Welcome to PM. Stay safe.
