Wishes for 2017

I am extremely happy with PM to date. I am hoping for these services / options in 2017.

1. Visual VoiceMail - I had VVM w/ Telus, and miss this constantly. It would be great to see this available either as a standard feature or a paid add-on. Loved the option too for VVM to Text Message.

2. WiFi Calling - I have poor cellular reception in areas of our house, but strong wifi. Would like this failsafe.

3. VoLTE / HD Calling - Better call / voice quality would be fantastic.

Just a few thoughts and wishes for the coming year.

I am very curious to hear about Telus'es implementation of WiFi calling. They only support certain devices, right? AFAIK, currently VoLTE is only offered on two phones.

I am very surprised to hear that the audio quality is poor on WiFi calling. Aren't they supposed to use more superb codecs? Perhaps, you need to have VoWIFI to VoWIFI or VoWIFI to VoLTE to get better sound quality?

Voice over WIFI works on my iPhone 6S... just the voice quality is horrible. Everything sounds garbled and unclear, I turned it off and just use Fongo.

I had switched to PM before Telus launched WiFi Calling. At times I have very poor cellular reception and was hoping that such a feature would be a miracle cure 🙂

Telus launched WIFI calling - but I have to say that it kinda sucks.

Voice quality is VERY poor, I turned off WIFI calling and just use Fongo if signal is low.

Too bad as I thought that this would be a great feature for me...

Telus launched WiFi Calling back in December 2016.

Also quote:

Telus also said there were no updates at this time for VoLTE, Koodo and Public Mobile regarding WiFi Calling, but we’ll be hearing updates soon.

As for the VMM, I will fully admit to being lazy, and loved that feature with Telus. I find the VM system in general archaic, but understand the "Frill" feature 🙂

Telus hasn't even brought Wifi calling to Telus customers yet, have they?

I don't see VVM coming to PM, ever.  That's very much a "frill" feature, whereas PM is very much "no frills".  I could see VoLTE coming eventually, maybe, but I'll be honest when I say that is one of my LEAST wanted features.  I look at voice calling as one of those rarely used apps on my phone that's just there because my mom still needs to call me once in a while. 🙂

ViLTE would be pretty cool.

Second the VoLTE and WiFi Calling requests, but also Video over VoLTE: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_over_LTE

One can hope.

Who knows what Public Mobile has planned for us 🙂

Ditto your wishes.

If these features were brough to sub-carries, we would probably see Koodo have them first, however.

Thought I did - my mistake.

And yes, I am sure these have been mentioned.... Thought I would post "My Wishes...."

I would like to see Voice over LTE support as well. Rogers has had it running on some phones for a while now. With the telus LTE network pretty much covering all of their HSPA footprint now, it only makes sense that they start loading some voice traffic onto it. Plus, we get higher quality calls & connection time.
