You're right about the period at the end plus the extra characters.
Unfortunately others have quoted his OP so.....

@srlawren, the link that you provided for the Moto G6 Play is coming back with an error message. I think that it might be because of the period at the end of your sentence.
If you don't have a Costco near you, or if you don't want to line up to pay during Xmas shopping season, I would consider the extra $5 to purchase this phone online negligible. In addition, to make this purchase at costco.ca, you do not need to be a member, and Visa is also accepted for payment (only cash, debit, and mastercard in store).

EDIT: Costco also sell the newer Moto G6 Play online for $225: https://www.costco.ca/Motorola-Moto-G6-Play-Unlocked-Smartphone.product.100462556.html.
Moto G6 play in store $219.99

@familleffe, here is a comparison between the G6 Play and G5 The play has a larger battery and 8 mp front camera vs 5. Other than that very similar specs
There is one addition to the G series this year in the form of the Moto G6 Play, and it seems like a sideways move rather than a clear-cut upgrade over the Moto G5. For one, it features either a Snapdragon 427 quad-core processor (in the U.S.) or an octa-core Snapdragon 430. The latter chip is the same one seen in the Moto G5.
The phones also match each other for RAM and storage, offering 2GB/3GB RAM and 16GB/32GB variants. But the Moto G5 has a sharper 5-inch 1080p display (16:9), as opposed to the 6-inch 1440 x 720 screen (18:9) on the Play.
Display | 5.7-inch IPS LCD 1440 x 720 (18:9) | 5.0-inch IPS LCD 1920 x 1080 (16:9) |
Processor | Qualcomm Snapdragon 427 Adreno 308 (USA) Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Adreno 505 GPU | Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Adreno 505 GPU |
RAM | 2GB/3GB | 2GB/3GB |
Storage | 16GB/32GB expandable up to 128GB | 16GB/32GB expandable up to 128GB |
Rear camera | 13MP | 13MP f/2.0 |
Front camera | 8MP 5MP (USA) | 5MP |
Fingerprint scanner | Yes | Yes |
Battery | 4,000mAh | 2,800mAh |
Software | Android 8.0 Oreo | Upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo |
Dimensions | 155.4 x 72.2 x 9.1 mm 180 g | 144.3 x 73 x 9.5 mm 144.5 g |
The G6 Play’s biggest strength is its battery life, serving up a 4000mAh cell that should yield two days of moderate usage. The Moto G5 comes in at 2800mAh, which makes for a massive difference on paper. In fact, the manufacturer claims up to 36 hours of juice for the Play, as opposed to the G5’s “all day battery.” If battery life is important to you above all else, you’ll want the Play over the G5.
Value photography over battery life? There’s really not much to choose between the two devices in this regard, as they both deliver 13MP f/2.0 single cameras on the rear. The G6 Play differs from the G5 for selfies though, featuring an 8MP shooter compared to the G5’s 5MP.

Koodo has a LG G6 for $240. Probably closer to $300 if you account for the SIM card, and set up fee. You can cancel on the same day, once you get the phone, and pay off your tab.
You can get other incentives from other resellers like Walmart, Loblaws, or Wow Mobile, but with these retailers, you are obligated to stick with Koodo for 90 days, otherwise, these resellers do not get paid, and you can be blacklisted from these resellers. Koodo, on the other hand, will continue to do business with you, as long as you pay off your tab when you close your account.

Good thread started yesterday about the Moto 5G at Costco for $150 I think that is great bang for your buck.
