I had something weird happen to my connection today. My phone was connected to the network, however the service state was showing "out of service" under SIM status. At the same time, cellular network state was showing "connected" and I was able to use the wireless data. Toggling airplane mode returned the service state to "in service".
This is the first time I have ever seen such behavior, not with any other carrier or any other phone. Anyone experience this or know what causes it. BTW, I did not do any recent rom, kernel, bootloader updates or anything of this nature that may be contributing factor.

If your service isn't working, I wouldn't worry about it.
I have seen a phone before (on a different network) say vocie and data say out of service for Service State but eveyrthing worked fine. In that case, it was a phone software issue as it only happened in that one particular model of phone (but also only with one specific carrier's sim cards).
Right now with my current phone on Public Mobile, my phone always says Cellular Network State disconnected. Everyting works fine, and it only does it on this one phone that I am using now. Once again, this one is also a software issue.
There could be something going on with the network or your account, but if services keep working, I wouldn't even think twice about these messages.

I've been noticing a few threads about SIMs and network status lately so I have been watching my personal phone just to see what it was doing.
Go figure, I now notice that quite often the phone is searching for network while my Telus phone is connected just fine.
No time to troubleshoot now, but it's just odd to see numerous posts that are kinda related.
I see that one of the threads is related to a phone that was reported stolen (which REALLY sucks...) - but there still are a few related to similar issues 🤔.

It's probably just a system glitch
See if u get same situation again
Bro does that effect your service like no calls data n stuff
This is the first time ever and the problem has not repeated itself. Once I cleared it toggling airplane mode, things have restored to normal. Actually what tweaked me to something not right was my battery draining faster than normal. I checked what was draining the battery and it was cell standby. The phone was reporting that I had not cell signal for 75% of the time. That led to me checking SIM status which showed the anomaly. My phone did have cell signal as I was using data, receiving messages on email, hangouts, whatsapp without issue. I was focused on fixing the problem rather than finding out what works or doesn't work with the problem in place. Until it comes back again, I won't be able to find out its effects on calling.
