can I buy a voucher and wait a few months to use it? Or does it expire at some point if I haven’t applied it?

There is no expiry. Some vouchers will print scary messages about expiring. They don't. If the code is printed on those thermal receipt printer papers then the code could fade out and become unreadable. Take a pic.
