Hi!
I have two Public Mobile accounts and two separate phone numbers and two separate phones. I want to swap the phone numbers between the phones. One phone has a nano sim card and the other has a micro sim card. I purchased a third sim card. I changed one account to the newly purchased sim card. Then, I wanted to change the second account to point to the sim card that was originally on the first account. However, when I do this, it says the sim card is already in use. Yet, when I turn on the phone with this sim card, it says that there is no service. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks!

The old fixed sized SIM cards are well past their freshness date. The easiest thing is to just get a convertible SIM. I have never advocated SIM cutting. It is surprising that people suggest this and meanwhile point fingers at the SIM card when network connectivity is in doubt.

Hi @Prosperious,
You can always try cutting down the Micro SIM card down to the size of the Nano SIM card, since you are planning to purchase a new SIM card anyway, there is nothing to lose if you do make a mistake in the cut.
Use a template that you can print out online and use that to guide you in the cut, using scissors:

@Prosperious, once you go and activate a new SIM card the old one that had been used becomes inactive and can't be used again. That is why you aren't able to put your primary number on the SIM yo that you set free

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I am not trying to switch phone numbers between accounts. I am only trying to swap phone numbers between phones. However, my phones do not have the same size sim cards. One of the sim cards is a nano sim card and the other is a micro sim card. The micro sim card is not a cut-out type so much so that it cannot be reduced to a nano sim card size. So, to proceed between the swap, I purchased a third sim card. I have a primary cell number that I want to work at all times. So, I took the secondary number and switched it to the sim card I purchased. After this operation, I was hoping to transfer my primary phone number to the nano sim card I had just freed up but this operation failed saying that the sim card was already in use. The reason I am doing this is because I purchased a new phone and I want the new phone to use my primary cell phone number.
Can you help?
Thanks

@Prosperious Somehow you posted on the French forum. There's usually better response on the English, so I moved it.
Public Mobile no longer allows switching phone number between accounts.
If you are trying to have someone take over one of the accounts its phone number will be lost. Describe in more detail what you wish and we will tell you the limitations you must address.
