Someone tried Chatsim?

Hi!

I've just seen this... Chatsim, unlimited Whatsapp/Messenger/etc. texting worldwide for $44/yr... Anybody tried it?

never tried chatsim but used knowroaming for their free whatsapp offering.

Worked well when I was in Hong kong and Japan.

Just watch out, it would take a couple kb every

wow, didn't know it is this bad.

I would recommend knowroaming and freedompop (read the fine prints) instead.

Here are a few negative comments from customers:

"Buyer beware. It is not unlimited. When it shut off in the middle of our vacation in Cuba I discovered unlimited means 5 mb a year... Send more money. When it was working it was fine, but it is a scam, I had a firewall installed letting out only the operating system and the messenger app. As tight as I could hold data, I still had 'abnormal use', it is a scam pure and simple. Just use Wi-Fi, you'll end up doing that like we did anyways."

"Bought in Canada for using it in Europe. It DID NOT WORK in Germany, at arrival. So, a useless buy from a company that requested a scan of my Driving License to activate this card!! Not a normal procedure in Canada. $40 lost plus my personal info on a server in Italy."

"Works well the first 30 days then they tell you they will slow you down then after 60 days they completely block your "yearly" subscription."

“I have had nothing but issues with ChatSim since the day I activated it. I am confident that only Facebook Messenger is using data services, yet I constantly get texts regarding abnormal use. I was also notified that I has reached both the monthly AND yearly limit within days of using ChatSim, but the service is advertised as unlimited. Most recently I was told that my ChatSim had been blocked and I would have to buy a new plan. All in all, ChatSim has proved too good to be true and was a waste of money to purchase and unlock my phone- I would have been better off buying local SIM cards throughout my trip.”

I would personally stay away from this product.
