KTS

Just bought a SIM card and activated and ported number during activaiton.

Now both my PM SIM And Telus SIM have "No Service" when entered in the Iphone.

I really do not wish to loose my phone number what has happened?

@KTS, I can say with absolute certainty your port failed somewhere.  Porting within the Telus family of carriers is literally instantaneous.  Don't worry about losing the number.  It is sitting somewhere in the Telus system and can be rescued.  I suggest that you contact the moderator team and have them resubmit the port.  The moderator team can be reached via private message using this link.  Please include in your private message account number and PIN code. Refer to the following knowledge base link for additional information on contacting the moderator team.

I shall wait till the morning and see how it goes thanks all for the help

Thanks for the Reply.

If I call I get the 6UT1: The Number you have reached is not in service... The Number you have called is not assigned ... The customer you are calling is unavailable please try your call again

(seems they are covering there bases)

I can't see this being a problem as I put my husband's Rogers sim in and it works fine and I am coming from using Telus?? I have sent a message to mods in hopes they can help.

There isn't anything you can do from your side to fix a number not in service situation.  The moderators will need to put it back in service for you.  Clearly, Telus Mobility released the number to Public Mobile for you, but at the same time, it should have started working (not this not in service stuff).

I doubt you have lost the phone number, so I wouldn't worry about that.

Assuming that your Telus service was active when you tried to port the number the Public Mobile, you should be fine.  Porting is supposed to happen within 2.5 hours, but when your're going from one Telus brand to another, number transfers should be almost instant. from what I read.

With any number porting request, there's always a small chance of having a short period of time when calling your number will result in a erroneous "number not in service" message or even a busy tone.  (The busy signal thing happened to me before for about half an hour when going from Mobilicity to Wind).  These types of things aren't supposed to happen, but it's not unheard of.  Some of the time, this type of thing fixes itself in about an hour.

I would get call your phone number using another phone.  What happens then?  If you don't get a number not in service message or receive a voicemail box, your Public Mobile service probably is correctly provisioned to your sim card already.   If not, and it doesn't fix itself shortly, you'll need to contact Public Mobile's moderators to finalize the number transfer request by properly provisioning yoru services.

Try giving a call to Telus and ask them if the number is still active on their side. It does look like that the service is gone from Telus so please do give some time for the port in to go through as that may be the issue. In the mean time, give the moderator team a message with your acct #, phone #, and pin # as verification purposes and ask them if they see anything on their end.

@KTS, Just to be sure, did you restart your phone after doing the activation (with number port)?
