Can anyone tell me if a number transfer will terminate the service at my previous porvider? I seem to remember this working this way in the past but am not sure.
Yes, porting a number to a new carrier automatically cancels the service/account at the previous carrier. Do not cancel the account at the previous carrier yourself or the number port will fail and you'll lose the phone number.
