New phone for public mobile?

CE2JRH

I'm looking for a new phone for public mobile. I don't pay much attention to the phone market.

My current phone is a Blue HD Advance 5.5 I believe, which I wasn't super happy about.

There was trouble getting it on Public Mobile's network initially, widgets never worked, and it only lasted ~1.5 years before the power jack is no longer functioning (I have to fiddle with it for ~10 minutes in various positions to get it charging). It's $90 price tag was satisfactory though.

(I have a PM from Kalla_A from 1.5 years ago when I was sorting this out that reads this; the phone did end up working fine despite the missing frequencies after a bunch of finangaling, but I'd prefer to get a phone that has appropriate frequencies off the bat)

Re: Info
Hey CE2JRH,  I have some bad news for you... It seems that your phone is not compatible with PM after all.   I checked your IMEI on a website called imei.info, and you do not have all the frequencies required for PM. You can take a look in the picture below. In the HSDPA section, you are supposed to have 850 and 1900 to be able to use talk and text.   Is there anyway for you to find another unlocked phone to use?   I really apologize for this.     Kalla

I'd like a new phone that is;

-$200 or less

-Works well on Public Mobiles network

-Is mainstream enough that I can get a case for it that covers the power jack - I work in the trades and keeping sawdust out with a case that doesn't cover it is impossible.

-Bonus; can play Hearthstone's App.

If anyone has any suggestions or knows of something good off the top of their head, I'd really appreciate it. I don't follow the phone market at all, unfortunately, and I don't particularly want a $700 smart phone.

For people looking for a budget phone, I recommend this one.  It is a bit old but still very capable.  This goes on sale from time to time.

I'm quite happy with my Moto G5 Plus, an excellent phone for the price point, and it should cost <$200 now that the Moto G6 has begun launch.

@CE2JRH, I can't really make any recommendations for a particular phone model, however, when you do have a potential choice, check the following web sites to know whether or not the model is fully compatible with Public mobile.
