Network Speed

I just did a speed test at my network connection is like over 200mb/sec and it says LTE so I guess that's a little gift from public. Anybody else have the same experience.

I wasn't going to say anything because maybe they will notice it now and throttle me but still wanted to share..

Please be careful with using the speedtest.net app. The 200Mbps result that you got likely used up a few hundred megabytes of data.

What I do (and recommend) is use the speedtest.net app on the very last day of your phone plan's billing period...just a few hours before it resets if you still have plenty of unused data leftover.

That can be done and I know you're saying to go ahead to do that because the data will go to waste if it's not used up. However, this also means that more data is in the plan than the customer needed for that billing period.

It depends on the plan. If a customer is on a 3GB plan, but has only used 2.1 GB, then they are indeed on the correct plan, but also have 900 MB left over to run a speedtest.

Enjoy it while it lasts after newly activating...  bear in mind, running these speedtests eat into your data allotment,  so plan them wisely.

In addition to the full LTE speeds lasting for about the first 48 hours after activation, these speeds sometimes occur if the Public Mobile's throttlilng techniques fail. In all honesty, I feel that if a customer gets these faster speeds, this results in some cases of the customers using the data up faster than normally would of.  Please be careful with using the speedtest.net app. The 200Mbps result that you got likely used up a few hundred megabytes of data.

If you just joined pm it can take a couple days for the throttle to kick in.
