Hi, I live in Calgary, but there's no area code 403 available when I'm doing a search. If I choose my local city as Canmore, I notice there are a lots more options for area code 403.
Would it be fine if I choose my local city as Canmore and get a 403 area code, but live in Calgary?
Thanks

If someone from Calgary calls a number in Canmore and doesn't have province-wide calling (i.e. landline) then it would be considered a long distance call and they would be charged accordingly.

That I can't answer sorry, from mobile most plans are now Canada wide or Provincial wide so they wouldn't be charged LD but as for landline I am can't say with any certainty

What if other people call me? Will it be considered long distance?

I can't see why not as the plan is Provinve wide calling and you can receive all calls while in your home province
