Issues porting a voip.ms number.

Like few others, I am a new customer and also received a text message sayting that PM is experiencing difficulties porting my phone number and to complete the SIM & activation online form.

 

What I did was:

  • Created a ticket with my previous company voip.ms to let them know they should expect a porting request and that I was the one initiating it.
  • Used the PM website contact form to let them know I was a voip.ms customer (also included this info in the original port request)

For now I am just waiting for the port to happen. I can make phone calls and send messages but not receive calls or texts. I will be updating this thread, I hope it helps somebody else.

 

By the way, voip.ms will charge you $25 if you are porting a number you got from them. Mine is free as was ported from Rogers one year ago.

 

Update: read in this thread, the port from voip providers might take up to 48 business hours.
