Just a cool photo I thought I’d share. Little bit of perspective.
Also have a good question though.
What if I were an active community member after having my plan down to $0.00? Would Public Mobile start paying me each month? Example: Have auto pay enabled, 30 referred friends and be with Public 8 years. A $40.00 plan would be $0.00/month for the person. Now what if they also stayed in the top 1% community members.. Would the account fill up $15.00 each month with credit? And if so would they be able to redeem it back to debit/visa? Or are the loyalty credits non transferable? It would be kind of pointless to have a $0.00/month account balance but have public adding credits that will never be used...? Anyone know how to answer that one? FYI, no I do not have my plan down to $0 but I’m working on it. Lol thanks!

Good question! I would like to know the answer too.

To sum up, if you refer 100 people, the most it's going to cost the company is your monthly bill.
Meanwhile, the company has monthly revenue 100 times the cost of your monthly bill, thanks to you.

too bad you can't transfer rewards to another account!

Great minds think alike! I even started my reply with Say What? But changed it in progress....

Why not? Once they have been moved up to available funds they are the same as cash from having added funds to your account via a voucher. I agree the rewards can't be used while they are still sitting in the rewards area prior to monthly renewal.

Say what? Rewards convert to Available Funds. You buy add-ons from Available Funds.

Rewards can bring plans down to $0 per bill. Says so on PM's front page.
I doubt they'd ever pay (or credit) surplus Rewards because it would be a one-way path for them to slowly but surely grow a debt.
You could upgrade to a higher-cost plan to use surplus Rewards. (Until you reach highest-priced plan at $0, lol. Reward overflow beyond that point is just wasteful bragging.)
You can't use Rewards to purchase add-ons.
Be aware that Referrals can leave PM, taking your Referral Reward with them. AutoPay can fail suddenly (and repeatedly), denying you AutoPay Reward each time (though a practical workaround exists). Community Rewards are fickle, you can't bank on them unless you're an Oracle.

The picture is not good, cannot even tell it is a phone.

My monthly rewards are virtually double my current $15 plan cost BUT, I switch up to the $40 plan for about 4 months over the summer when we are at the cabin a lot with no other internet access so the accumulated funds will get put to good use.

"What if I were an active community member after having my plan down to $0.00? Would Public Mobile start paying me each month? "
They wouldn't pay you, but they would gift you a digital clock radio and harvest gold 4 slice toaster.

@Greg1275 official policy as per the Terms of Service (link in the footer of every page on this site) and the reward rules page (https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/on/get-help/articles/reward-rules) suggest you can only get credited reward values up to your plan cost.
"
How Many Rewards Can I Earn?
You can earn up to your current plan value in Rewards, reducing it to $0. Once you reach the value of your plan, you will not be able to accumulate any further Rewards in that plan period, and you will not be able to save Rewards and apply them to future months.
"
That said, written policy does not always 100% match observced reality at Public Mobile. Your mileage may vary. Objects it the mirror may appear closer than they are. Caution, contents very hot.

Ah the pale blue dot anniversary. Go Voyagers!
It has been brought up here from time to time that rewards and credits would not be paid out to real money. But some have argued that if one deposits real money in then one ought to be able to get that back out to real money. But I've never heard what came of those folks and any success.

@Greg1275 Yes, PM will credit your account.
Example: Have auto pay enabled, 30 referred friends and be with Public 8 years. A $40.00 plan would be $0.00/month for the person.
Maximum loyalty reward is $5 so you will still own $3 every 30 days.
Now what if they also stayed in the top 1% community members.. Would the account fill up $15.00 each month with credit?
Actually $12.00
And if so would they be able to redeem it back to debit/visa? No, it stays in your account.
Or are the loyalty credits non transferable? Correct.
It would be kind of pointless to have a $0.00/month account balance but have public adding credits that will never be used...? You can always change plans, moving on up...
Anyone know how to answer that one? Yes, look above.
FYI, no I do not have my plan down to $0 but I’m working on it. Lol thanks!

Congratulations:)
Isn't pm the best?
You can't cash in (would they have to pay into CPP in that case?)
But you can spend it with public mobile on add-ons, upgrades, early plan changes etc
Enjoy it:)

If I stop posting on the community forums today. My next payment of $11 would be in June 😝

Greg1275,
If you manage to get your plan down to even $-1, you will not earn money from Public Mobile. It’ll just mean you get your plan for free and the spare money will go to your self service account that can be used for add-ons.
If you want, you can upgrade to a better plan for just a little over $0 so no money will go to waste.
Good luck on your journey to your $0 plan!

@Greg1275 if this happens, it accumalates in your self service account , but you would only be able to use that money to buy add ons or to upgrade your account. What is the photo of?

I believe any credits you get can only be applied to your account for future payment. You can't cash out, it's a cell service provider not a casino.
