Error message when transferring number

I'm trying to transfer my landline number to my cell phone. When I type it in, I get the error, "We were unable to transfer the phone number you entered." then it tells me to make sure I typed it in right, or to get a new number, or ask here.

 

The provider of the wired number is wightman.ca. Any advice?

I'm not sure whether there are any issues with porting a number from Owen Sound, but @computergeek541 is correct that there are certain numbers not available for porting.  If that porting tool is also giving an error, then it may not be eligible.

 

Check with a CS Agent (staff) to see if they can look into it.  I'm not sure who that provider is, and if they're a smaller player, it may be possible that's part of the issue.  Let us know what you find out!  🙂

In order to transfer a phone number over to Public Mobile - you will need to activate an account with a temporary phone number and after that your contact Customer Support Agent by CS_Agent, for the transfer your number to Public Mobile,

I got the same error from thay Koodo link, "Your request couldn't be completed. Please re-enter the 10 digit mobile phone number or call at 1-866-99-Koodo for assistance."

Not all phone numbers can be transfered.  Which city is the phone number from?
