Data is not working

Just port in from virgin mobile at 3:20pm today, phone call is working now, but data is not, please help.

Try restarting your handset sometimes that can correct the data issue.

@crazycolby here's another silly question: are you sure you have mobile data enabled on your phone?  On most Android phones it's easy to disable it by accident by tapping on the mobile network icon in your quick toggles on the notification pane.  I've done this a few times and felt silly when I figured it out a few mins of wonder.

Data and porting are unrelated so please disregard anyone that's mentioned a porting issue.


What EXACT model of Huaweui phone do you have, @crazycolby?  Be as specific as posssible.

If you can text/call, then it's most likely your APN Settings, so you need to update that

It shows 6144mb for data

try using a new apn instead of editing.  

 

dumb question but self serve shows you have data addon? and it shows that it is 0ish/?gig????

What phone are you using?  some phones LG G5 I think require a factory reset.  did you create a new apn or edit an existing one?

Looks like you have a porting problem.  You'll need to private message a moderator with your account phone number.

Tried APN and still not working. thank you

My port was done almost isntantly, received a text within 10 minutes of starting the port.  Maybe just luck, but if i were you i would private message the moderators as @SD08 mentioned.

Porting usually takes a couple of hours to complete.  I advise to give it a bit more time.

 

In the meantime, check your APN settings and reboot your phone:

If it still doesn't work by this evening, then it may be a porting error. Then you'll need a moderator's help to fix it:
