I missed all these convos last year and have been suffering w/o text data. Issue hasn't been solved unfortunately.

OP said that calls and texts worked. If the phone was missing the required frequencies for voice (850, 1900MHz UMTS), neither would be working at all. Data also works fine on those frequencies. So at the very least he/she would be able to use data on those frequencies in HSPA mode at the very least.
As discussed earlier, the access point settings need to be corrected.

I suggest puting default,supl,mms in the APN type field instead of leaving it blank. Of course, once this new APN is created, make sure that it is selected as the active APN.

didnt fint taht model on will my phone work but googled it and it says:

Telus is 1700 and 1900 i believe so it should work
