Give the mods thr number, name, address, they may confirm the credit card number you used as they will have to reverse it. I am sure it's happened before, they will solve it.
If your friend's handset has dual SIM slots, they can reg with PM amd takw that nrw number. Then port the old one. They'll have both cards in the phone so the transition will be seamless thrn it happens.
