I would suggest doing a factory reset if it doesn't work. But before that make sure your phone is updated to the latest anroid software. Try taking out the sim card possibly or switching your lte data to 3g network.
I personally like the s8 a lot because of the iris scanner. I got a crappy phone prior to getting my s7 edge and the difference is huge. I would suggest getting the best if you are going to use it everyday !
