Use foreign eSIM on PM

Many threads in PM community ask about when or if PM will offer eSIM. I want to share my experience using a foreign eSIM on iPhone while travelling to the US.

I bought an eSIM online from 3HK (365-Day Pass UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand 35GB)

HK$268 (CAD 45 approx.) 365 days

Travel Data 30GB

Travel Social Data 5GB

Package will be instantly activated after successful payment with activated SIM.

Applicable to the below destinations:

Hong Kong, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, UK, USA

iPhone setting:

Primary line: physical SIM from PM

Secondary line: eSIM from 3HK (link below); turn on Data Roaming

Title is confusing and it is not a question but presenting experience.

'Foreign' eSIM has nothing to do with PM service/account. When using eSIM you will use services provided by that SIM and your PM account will stay active as long as you pay renewal fee.

Canadians pay one of the highest rates for mobile and Internet services. Nothing to do about that as there is no real competition here 😞

I don't think it's about esim. It's about the disparity between prices in Canada and what we can find elsewhere. Just the offering of esims would not affect the rates. The direct competitor Lucky Mobile offers esims. It doesn't affect plan costs.
