I was wondering will a iPhone 5 work with PM? And when porting a number what does the alternative phone option mean?

Also for authorization name does it mean the account holder name? if so is it ok if its not under my name?

Right now (during the Canada Post strikes) it's courier shipping so I would think only a few days or so.

Hi @SteveyCole,
Sorry, after I posted the above, I saw this thread: http://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/Discussions/Porting-problem/m-p/59536#U59536. This leads me to recommend that you ignore what I said above (now crossed out) about alternate phone number, and instead leave that field blank. My apologies for the potential misinformation.

Hi @SteveyCole, welcome to the public mobile community! Yes, iPhone 5 will work fine, provided it is either not locked to a carrier, OR, is locked to Telus/Koodo, and also it has the right frequencies for the Telus network that PM operates on. Do you have the exact model number? I think they are usual a four digit number preceeded by a letter, if I'm not mistaken.
Hopefully someone else can address your porting questions in more detail but I believe the atlernative phone number is in case they need to reach you while the port is in progress and thus you won't be accessible via your usual phone number, and the authorization name should be the account holder's name at your previous carrier. I beleive it needs to be spelled exactly as it is on record at the carrier.
