SMS not working properly

I have browsed through a number of posts regarding SMS.  I think my issue has started since I used the US roaming add-on a couple months ago.  SMS is not working consistently.  Sometimes, messages don't get sent out or it takes over 10 minutes to receive a message.  I tried setting the SMSC number to 16475800172 using *#*#4636#*#*.  I keep getting the "update error" message.  Rebooted and shut down a number of times but still no luck.  

 

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

@RobertQc  Putting the sim in another phone is almost the last thing I can try.  I've also tried different messaging apps to rule out a possible app issue.

@gtidriver  I assume with all of your testing you have tried your sim in another phone to be able to rule out any local issues?

 

I also suggest sending a message to the moderator team to see if they might be able to reset your sms account on their end. Click this to send them a message.

@popping I tried the steps you suggested.  Unfortunately, the symptoms persist.

Try the lost/stolen phone trick to re-provision your plan features again.

1. Login to your self-serve account.
2. Report your phone lost/stolen using [Plan and Add-Ons] --> [Lost/Stolen Phone]
3. Logoff
4. Wait 5 minutes and login again
5. Report your phone found.
6. Re-start you phone to provision your account again. i.e. enable all features of you plan again.

If this trick failed to get thing working again, you should send a private message to moderator for help. But the wait is about 48 hours. Good luck.
