Friend got new line with area code 437, its a Toronto area code, I can text it no problem but says I need long distance add-on to call it?

This is an ongoing problem that really shouldn't be so hard to fix. Don't know why it's taking so long.

Hi @Tdog,
First, have you tried dialing a +1 before the 10 digit phone number?
If the above does not work, then it might be due to the fact that 437 area code numbers are still very new to the Public Mobile database of numbers and does not recognize it as a local number. In this case, you will need to send a message to the Moderators to have them take a look in the backend to see if this can be corrected.

Public Mobile probably doesn't have that prefix of the 437 area code programmed properly as being Toronto, Ontario numbers. It should most definitely be included in your plan (if you are calling from somewhere in Ontario or if you have Canada-wide calling), but unfortuantely, moderators are the only ones who can assist you with either account problems or techncial problems with the network and backened system.
