I purchased a new phone and am unsure about setting it up

Is it wiser to use a new SIM or to transfer the SIM I currently use?

Any advice would be appreciated.

@DFist PM sim cards are all 3 in 1, which means you can remove the outer spacer and make it smaller (nano size) to fit the new phone

This may be a stupid question. My new phone is much newer than my existing phone. Should the SIM card should be the same for both devices as far as compatibility?

@DFist - If you are on eSIM you will need a new eSIM / SIM card.

But if you are transferring physical SIM card over you will not need a new SIM card unless your phone is eSIM only, with no physical SIM tray internally or externally.

@DFist beauty with sim card is that you can just remove the the sim from. the old phone and inserti it into the new phone.  Done

with the phone contents, use the device switch app that comes with the new phone or it will guide you during the phone setup process
