I’m going to the USA and expecting an important call from a doctor while I’m there. I bought the 10 day USA talk and text plan. Will the doctor be able to reach me calling my usual cell number? Does she have to add a 1 for long distance?

@Ryes2000 your doctor won't even know you're in U.S. if you have roaming talk add-on.

As long as you have the 10 day package nothing changes, you still have a canadian phone number! They'll call you as they normally would :0

For the person calling you its all normal, they won't have to do anything different and they won't even know where you are located everything will be exactly the same for them as long as you have service

Yes You should
Make sure roaming is on
Manually switch to service with better signal
Your doctor should call you as usual, they shouldn't be concerned with your location really. They may hear a bit different dial tone, that's about it
If you go into an area with no signal they will be able to leave a message, just like in Canada
