after signing up my own phone with success i signed up my wifes phone.

her plan includes unlimited country wide LD but it plays the "charges" recording?

any ideas around that?

It means that call is long distance. You can dial the 1 like others said if you don't want to hear the message or you can ignore and call will work in a few seconds.

To avoid similar problems in the future, If your phone allows it you might want to prefix +1 when dialing NA numbers.

@oldslow  Try dialing 1 first before the number. Otherwise as long as the call goes through don't worry about it. As this is a pre-paid service there are no extra charges here, ever.
