I have switched 3 phones now the first one took about 30 hrs next 2 were switched within 30 mins.

Just a little patience is required sometimes.

@Dinsdalej

Koodo prepaid and public mobile share the same back end system. As a result the koodo prepaid phone number does not get ported in to public mobile in the traditional sense but rather gets transferred between accounts from the koodo account to the new pm account.

  1. Activate the pm sim card and choose a temporary pm phone number.
  2. Ensure all the pm services are working on the pm sim card.
  3. Contact customer support to complete the number transfer supplying the CSA with your koodo phone #, account # and the full name on the koodo account.
  4. Be sure to put the koodo sim card back in the phone to reply YES to the PAT (porting authorization text) within 90 minutes of receiving it.
  5. Once you reply to the text you can put the pm sim card back in your phone. The number transfer will complete in a few minutes to maximum of two hours (depending on CSA workload.)
  6. Completing the initial activation earlier in the day will ensure that customer support can complete your request in a timely as there is no real support overnight to complete the number transfer.

It also depends if replied to the SMS text with the Koodo SIM in the phone. Once you replied with YES, it should be within a minute.

Porting from Koodo:

If your switching from Koodo postpaid your can port-in your number during sim activation. Just have your Koodo account number, name on the Koodo account and Koodo number ready and enter it when choosing your number.

If it's Koodo prepaid then you need to click this link and type in “port request” to be put in touch with a Customer Support Agent (CSA). Include the Koodo info above.

If you just ported your phone number from another cell provider it could take a few hours to complete the port.

Using the other cell provider's SIM you should be still receiving calls on it, until the port completes.

Incoming calls are usually the last to port over.

@Dinsdalej It could take a couple of minutes to a couple of hours for the number to port completely. When did you join PM?
