Upgrade to same plan

Dave76

Hello I have my wife on the former 8gig/month for $50.  I see now that there is a plan for 10gig/month for $50.  How to 'upgrade' to the same plan?

@jo_z_c : If you're certain that you're clicking on change plan on next renewal then you can go ahead and complete this. It's what we call "schedule" a plan change. Then you can remove it before it starts if you like. Then you should see all the features. Don't worry at all about the texting. Simply, every plan has it.

Please post a screenshot of your overview page so we can see what you have. Blank out personal info of course.

@jo_z_c   If you logon to My Account, there is a My Promotion section if you have any.

the important promotion that you need to be careful are those re-occurring one.  From what I know, there weren't too many back then.  They do have one recently, 2GB bonus data, but I don't think you have that if you are on an older $35 plan

Members who have been here long time might be able to comment if there are other re-occurring one that has to be careful.

BTW, no worry about the one time bonus add-on (like the Christmas give-a-way).  Things appear as Add-on will stay

Sorry to be doubtful,  i highlighted in the screen shot another bit that Im not sure about.

"You will loose your current promotion"!

Not sure what the current promotion is?

Concerned it might be the unlimited International Texting as it isn't listed there in new plan 😞

Maybe they talking about the free add ons from PM that I havent used up yet?

why do you think that it wasn't listed?  Will the new plan still include 2.5gb at 3G speed? Just want to make sure before I change.

@jo_z_c   Yes, the unlimited international text is default to all plans.  and Yes, 2.5GB for $35 plan (and 0.5 extra with Autopay)

So, go ahead and enjoy the extra data in the next cycle

@jo_z_c

All new plans have unlimited text.  Probably just a glitch in the system.  I just tried myself with one of my accounts and it showed the same thing as your screenshot.  However, the previous step, the text, voicemail, etc features were shown.  Yes, it will include 2.5 GB data (+0.5 GB if on autopay)

about upgrading to same price plan $35.  In the screen shot the new plan overview seems to be missing the features it was promoting e.g.

2.5gb at 3G speed

unlimited International Text and Picture Messaging.

Does it not include this?  Unsure if I should change?

Yes it would include all these in red above. 🙂

Good plan change move! 👍

Ensure you choose the option to change on NEXT RENEWAL so you do not lose out on funds already paid for in this cycle.

@jo_z_c   what feature that it is promoting is missing?  you meant the recurring 2GB Bonus?  If so, the extra 2GB promotion  is for new activation only , not for existing customer.

However, the current $35 plan is still better than your current one, you still get extra data out of it

(old 1.5 GB, new 2.5 GB)

@jo_z_c

The new $35 plan has total of 3GB data.  (2.5 GB + 0.5 GB with autopay).  I would not change plan via self service account.  It looks like that you will lose some data with the "new" plan.

I would suggest you contact Customer service agent to renew your same plan.  If the plan is exactly the same, you are unable to renew the same plan earlier yourself.  You will need to contact CSA.

Edit:  Sorry, I misread your original plan.  Your original plan is only 1.5 GB (I thought 3.5 GB).  Makes sense  to change plans at next renewal or immediately (PM does not pro-rate plans though).

They're not the same plan. The system treats them as different/unique, and as such, the plan change procedure is no different than changing to any other plan. The fact that both plans are $50 isn't a factor.

yes, you can definitely "Change Plan".  Just Go to My Account, click Change Plan and select the "new"  $50 plan.

Just a reminder, when you select Plan change, you have a choice of Change Plan Now or Change on next renewal date:

E-MyAcct-ChangePlanNow-NextCycle

if you have no rush for the extra data , please choose Change on next renewal date.

If you choose Change Plan now, you will get charge the new plan price immediately and start a new cycle now.  All the unused data/mins will be forfeited and no partial refund for the remaining days on the old plan.

Change Your Plan

When you’re changing your plan, you can choose to change immediately or at your next plan renewal date. To change your plan: sign in to Self-Serve, select ‘Change Plan’ on the Overview page, select the plan you want, and scroll to the bottom of the page.If you’re looking to apply a promotion to your plan, learn how you can do that here.

Changing your plan on the next plan renewal date

We recommend you choose this option because it allows you to use the services you have already paid for until your next plan renewal date. Here are some things you should know about this option:

  • If you choose to change your plan on your next plan renewal date, the amount owed will be automatically updated.
  • If you have AutoPay set up, the amount of your new plan will be charged on your payment due date.
  • You can cancel a future-dated plan change at any time by clicking on the ‘Plans and Add-Ons’ tab and selecting ‘Cancel Order’.
  • Any earned Rewards will be applied on your next renewal after the plan change.

Changing your plan immediately

You may choose to change your plan immediately if you have used all or most of your services, or if your account is suspended and you would like a different plan. Here are some things you should know about this option:

  • There must be enough funds in your account to cover the full amount of the new plan.
  • A new payment cycle starts when you activate your new plan.
  • Your plan will not be prorated, which means that any days remaining in your current payment
  • Any earned Rewards will be applied on your next renewal after the plan change.
  • If your account is suspended – changing your plan is a 2-step process, so be sure to complete both steps or you may be left with partial or no service. Step 1 initiates the change, and step 2 reactivates your account via making a payment (if necessary).
    1. Make sure to review your details carefully before changing your plan - Once you click “Yes, change my plan”, all features from your current plan will be lost and the plan change will be completed, even if you do not make a payment in the second step.
    2. Top up your account with sufficient funds to reactivate your service - Since we are a prepaid service, you need to have the funds available for the plan change to fully take effect. If you only have partial funds in your account, or if you do not complete payment after changing your plan, you may be left with no or partial service. We have introduced several warnings to ensure you don’t leave the page without topping up, but figured we should mention it here as well. Note: If you have sufficient funds to cover your new plan, you won’t be taken to the payment menu.

What will happen if my payment wasn’t completed?

In this scenario, your account could still move from suspend to active, re-starting your plan cycle and potentially only reactivating a portion or none of your services. If you find yourself in this situation, simply go to the “Payment” tab in Self-Serve, choose “One Time Payment”, and opt to pay the “Amount Due”. This will cover the new plan cost less any partial payment that was taken. After successful payment, your services should be fully reactivated. If your services aren’t restored, please start a conversation with our virtual assistant, SIMon, to submit a ticket to the Moderator Team by clicking here.
