US Talk and Text/VoLTE

WIll the $15 US Talk and Text add-on still work (with VoLTE over 4G/LTE) with no US Data add-on?  Does it require Mobile Data to still be enabled on the phone, even though there is 0 Gb data available ?  Does the Data Roaming setting on the phone need to be enabled as well, even with no US Data?

Yes, absolutely.

There is no need to buy data if you don't need it. Most stores and locations there will have free WiFi.

Side note, when you DO get to the US, just go into your network settings, turn off automatic and choose T-Mobile then reboot. You should be up and running.

You don't have to have data, that's a separate add-on. It will work without the data. With the $15 talk and text, no data is required but roaming needs to be on. You can connect to T-Mobile or AT&T depending on your location. 

Connect manually,  remove auto connect. 

Yes, put your phone to 4G/LTE and connect to T-Mobile or AT&T.   

If calls still don't work, put your phone to 2G and connect to T-Mobile.
