We transferred our old chatter number to public Mobile… some calls were going to the new phone some to the old phone. Now that the chatter is disconnected we can get some calls in but some calls get the service is no longer available

If you missed this 90 minute window to accept the PORT via SMS/text, submit a ticket via this link to re-initiate the port:
Link to contact Customer Support Agents (CSA) for porting to Public Mobile
See helpful info. here: https://www.publicmobile.ca/en/bc/get-help/articles/port-fraud-protection
Incoming calls are usually the last to port over.
You mentioned chatr is disconnected. Are you saying you cancelled the account? A successful port should cancel the chatr account automatically.
If for some reason the chatr account was cancelled before the port was completed over to Public Mobile, you may need to reactivate the chatr account to keep that number, then start the port process again.
But, hopefully this is not the case. Submit a ticket with CSA (with link above) for them to check the status.

Thank you @dust2dust and @hTideGnow. Based on your clarifications, porting works in this way:
- Customer initiates port to PM at PM side.
- PM sends requests to other provider
- Other provider sends SMS to customer to authorize porting out (PAT request). That is why old SIM has be kept in phone and SMS answered with Yes within 90 minutes.
- Number to be ported to PM becomes available at PM side but for outgoing calls Only no matter if SMS is answered Yes or missed.
- If porting is not completed within 30 days, porting request is cancelled and PM assigns random number. All services become fully functional (calls and SMS in/out, etc.)
To resolve incomplete porting, customer has to contact PM agent to resend port request to other provider. Or if customer did answer Yes on porting out request but porting is not complete or it is stuck or whatever, customer has to contact PM agent (or call porting support phone number) for assistance.

HI @Meow If the person didn't reply YES within 90 minutes, the porting request will keep on pending unless someone call PM to reinitiate the text. If nothing was done, 30 days after the porting request, PM will cancel the request and randomly assign a new number to the user. I think they will get a text or an email notifying them the issue

Meow: The destination end will temporarily have the number for outgoing. Then, with an incomplete unconfirmed port, after a period of time it will apply a new number to the account and the old number just stays at the origin. The origin is the one sending the text prompted by the destination saying they have a port request on tap.

This will complete your porting process then power off your phone then power back on.
To my understanding if you do Not reply Yes to porting request, porting will not be initiated at all. Am I correct?
So there will be nothing to complete, right?

If reboot doesn't work and as service is disconnected from chatr now so you wont get authorization text.
Connect with support agents for further steps and status of the stuck porting process.
Create a ticket by clicking the bubble on the bottom right or by sending a direct to msg to CS_Agent.

Did you reply to the text with YES to confirm you are porting over to PM within the 90 minute window?
This will complete your porting process then power off your phone then power back on.
Let us know what you have done up to now.

Did you respond to the port request confirmation text from Chatr?
What about incoming texts? outgoing texts? data?
If you are unable to receive texts and calls, it is a stuck port.
Might want to try rebooting your phone or network reset of phone.
