I cannot send or receive IMessages from my phone number, only from my hotmail, this has just changed and also my SMS says it’s waiting for activation.

please help.

@Vick3   did you join PM lately?  did you get a new number when you joined?

And voice calling is working both incoming and outgoing?

Did you get the "waiting for activation" message under the iMessage toggle button?

make sure you the Date/Time is correct

Make sure your phone has the latest iOS

you can try to click "Reset All network" once

Perform a Reset of your device's Network Settings. This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, VPN and APN settings, and connected Bluetooth devices that you've used before.

Iphone:

Maybe try To Reset Network Settings, begin by opening the Settings app. Next, tap General -> Transfer or Reset iPhone -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings. and enter your passcode.

Your iPhone will reset network settings and restart itself.

If you prefer to use iMessage, then you can perform the following steps to try and fix the issue:

1. Connect to the internet using WiFi or Data.
2. Go to Settings > Messages and toggle iMessage OFF.
3. Turn your iPhone off completely, then turn it back on.
4. Go back into Settings > Messages and toggle iMessage ON.
5. Make sure “Send as SMS” is also turned ON.

Assuming that your internet connection is working, this would be an Apple issue. Have you registered your phone number with Apple's iMessage servers?
