Service issues in community

kayla87

There are service issues the past few days in the town of Melrose, Newfoundland (May also be called Trinity Bay North). Many people are experiencing this, they cannot make or receive calls. When they leave the town about 5 minutes away, phones are working fine. Wondering if there could be an issue with the towers near the community. Can a mod contact me or look into this. There are many frustrated people as most only have their cell phones for communication.

Thanks.

Telus is probably installing 5G antennas to their towers. So they will need to turn off power.

I wish they will send notices on our phones to all nearby customers that this is happening in the future.

Check for service outage here: https://www.telus.com/en/nt/outages?linktype=ge-footer

It could be one (or few) local towers have issue since it is not your phone nor PM service in general as you get service little bit further for area with issue.

@kayla87   For the time being, try to set your phone's preferred network  to 3G Only  and see if it helps (although I suspect it won't)

To have mod to look into it, please open a formal ticket with PM Support:

1. If you have access to My account: At https://publicmobile.ca/chatbot.
