SIM Card not working

I bought a new SIM card for my son and it says the SIM card is invalid. How do I fix this?

HI @KrisG , 

 

where did you see the error message?  From the phone?  You were able to activate without any problem?

 

Try to put the SIM in another phone as well and see if it works.  

 

If you put in a second phone and got the exact error, it could really be a SIM problem.  If you got it from a retailer, maybe you can get them exchange.   Or if you get it from PM, you can open a ticket with them and they may send you a new replacement

Did you encounter difficulties or errors while activating?

Check if you have been charged for the activation. If not, try activating again , using a browser in incognito mode.

If you have been charged and the SIM doen't work, contact Customer support for assistance:

 

Open a ticket via:

Type "ticket" > Click "Contact Us" > Select your issue > "Click here to submit a ticket↗"

Hi @KrisG 

 

Did you purchase the SIM card from an authorized seller?

 

These devices come ready to activate - but they are not already activated.

 

Did you go through the activation process here:  https://activate.publicmobile.ca/

@KrisG where does it say invalid when trying to activate? Or when putting it in a phone?

 

If the first wait an hour and retry, if second try sim in a different phone.

@KrisG....did you successfully activate a new account with your new sim ?

Try removing it and reseating it.  If you have another phone then try swapping the sim.

Is the phone locked ?  Did you use it with a previous provider ?  If so then you would need to contact them to unlock it.
