Received mms pictures are low quality

Hi, i bought a realme 7 5g phone recently and i've noticed that all my incoming mms pics are are around 50kb.  I've looked at different apps and their settings but the only setting in there is the size that you send to others. I also have rechecked my apn settings but everything looks good in there.  I read a comment on another forum that if a phone isn't in the carriers database it will reduce the size to old school phone limits due to it not knowing the new phones capabilities.  If anyone has a suggestion that would be great.

I realize that 15KB is extreme for shrinking the file size, but MMS is generally very poor quality.  MMS is really only meant for on-your-device/phone screen viewing.  When someone takes a picture, it is usually much higher quality than that of the image that will be received by a recipient through MMS.  The file sent/received is not the same file as the original. It gets heavily compressed even further, and while it will usually look okay on a screen, the resolution is much too low to be able to print the image out in any acceptable quality.  If maintaining the original photo quality is important, I would suggest having the other person provide you the original image file through an instant messaging application, e-mail, or thorugh a file sharing service.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I've tried them and it's still the same. I think it is just telus and my phone.  I popped my sim into my old zte axon 7 and the pics size was 300kb for the same pic. The apn setting are all the same as well as textra settings.  Thats kind of annoying.  Ohh well.

Public mobile is part of Telus group. 

According to Telus,

• File size limit, maximum number of attachments, picture quality, and video length can vary from one device to another. Usual limits for MMS are between 600 KB and 3.5 MB per photo and 600 KB or 15 seconds per video.

you can try reseat the SIM card and Make sure your phone is off before removing your SIM card,

1. power off your device

2. take out the SIM card,

3. waiting a 1 minute,

4. put it back and power on,

5. toggling airplane mode off/on,  

and do again Rebooting your phone,

*what is mean for Rebooting the phone means to turn off your phone and turn it back on again.

and you can try to reset network settings on an IPhone

Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.

for iphone  go to Settings > Messages > To turn iMessage on or off, 

Turn your data on to send a Picture Messaging in world-wide,

if your data is off and your home internet wifi is on is not going through the Picture or a video Messaging, 

you have to do this to is going through you will need to turn your data on to send a Picture or a video Messaging in world-wide,

make sure your Data is on.

and do again Rebooting your phone means to turn off your phone and turn it back on again.to refreshing your network...
