@mellis3  You can't. Submit a ticket to PM and ask for help. To submit a ticket to the Moderator Team, please start a conversation with the Public's virtual assistant, SIMon by clicking  here or the icon (bottom right of your screen).

Hi

Contact moderators they will locate your account and help you setup the access to it

Then you can just replace sim number and have your old account and number back

Actually @mellis3  to port your number from any provider the account has to be active. With Telus and Koodo,  the PM acccount doesn't have to be active to port to them.

@mellis3 to add, correct me if I'm wrong, but if it's a Telus or Koodo number your account doesn't have to be active. public can actually retrieve the number for you

@mellis3 so as I understand it, you activated your phone with a temporary number and lost it before you could port your number over.  Now you have  a new phone and sim card which you switched within your self service account amd you would now like to port your number over. As long as your old providers account is still active( not active you would have  to reactivate and get it back to port it), you can port/ transfer your number over. Contact the moderators and ask them to port it for you. Type " Port Request " and follow the prompts to get to one. Give them the name on the account,  the number to port and the old providers account number. There are 2 ways to contact the Moderator Team:

  • Faster response- Get help with your account the easy way by starting a conversation with our virtual assistant, SIMon. It’ll take you to relevant help articles, or if it’s something more urgent, it can help you submit a ticket to the Moderator Team. Click here to get started.
  • Slower- Alternatively, you can send a private message to the Moderators by clicking here. You’ll need to be logged in to your Community account for the link to work.

Once connected to Simon, you will be asked to log in again with your community user name and password.  Please do, this allows you to continue and send your message.
- Check your private message sent box (click on the envelope top right of your screen) to make sure the message was sent.

- Keep an eye on the envelope top right of your screen.  The mods answer will show up there.  When it does, you will be asked to verify your self service account, with your password and login. Doing so allows the process to continue. Stay safe.

Welcome to PM .

Have you set up your self serve?  If so you can go in there and change the number that is associated with that sim card, without having to get a new sim.
