Promo plan

If I sign up for promo plan and my number cannot be ported till my current provider gives me access to my account number.  Does activation of public mobile start only when I activate  the account ?

That isn't correct. When a customer request a a number to be ported in during activation, there is no temporary phone number.  In addition to that, an new number taken gets immediately deactivated as soon as a number port has been requested .

@Pjaeco what you can do is to activate a new PM account with a new phone number first. Once you are ready to port the number, login My Account and request porting at that time.  Of course, during this time, you would be paying both services
