Public Mobile is a self serve carrier. Custoemrs are supposed to initiate this request during activation or from Self Serve (if the account has already been opened). There are only some very specific situations that Public Mobie should be contacted to start a porting request.

Contact Public Mobile's customer support to initiate the porting process from Rogers. Provide necessary information, choose a Public Mobile plan, activate the new service with the ported number.

Hi @yemilad
I commend you on your decision to leave Rogers.
You can confirm your number is portable with this link. Port Checker
If it says it's OK, then you can start the process.
Like @BKNS27 said, you can purchase a SIM card here. Amazon
Then sign up at Public Mobile, pick whichever package you want. You can fill in the part about porting your Rogers number over. DO NOT remove your Rogers SIM just yet. You will get a text message from Rogers asking your permission to port your number. Text Yes. BUT... do not remove your SIM until you see the Rogers name at the top of your phone disappear. Might comes up as SOS? Side note, why not take advantage of your Rogers data before you go? Download the Public Mobile app.
Once the Rogers name is gone, it should be good to go. You can place your PM SIM card in your phone now.
If you have any other questions, we're all here to help. Remember, we're all customers like you.

Just purchase a new SIM from a Telus store ($10) or from Amazon.ca ($4.99).
Your current account must be active and keep your Rogers SIM in your phone and reply to the text with YES from Rogers confirming you are porting over to PM. There is a 90 minute window for you to reply or porting will be cancelled.
